Making Music in Maine & around New England
Josie has a soft spot for songs that tell a good story. An active singer in the greater Portland area, she shares her love of storytelling with music that spans genres.
Josie's band fuses bossa nova and modern jazz with neo-soul and indie rock. In 2025 she released her debut EP, Komorebi, a concept album tributing bossa nova pioneer Astrud Gilberto.
As a freelance vocalist, Josie performs in several music projects outside of her own - particularly jazz quartets and ensembles.
Recurring groups Josie appears in are theClifford Cameron Combo, a folk/chamber music ensemble, Rot On the Vine, and The Robben Harris Project.
Josie graduated from the Osher School of Music at the University of Southern Maine and holds a degree in Vocal Performance with a concentration in Jazz Studies. She’s been fortunate to study with great musicians like Amanda Roswick, Taylor O’Donnell, Dr. Charlie Christenson, Mary Johnston Letellier, Dr. Christopher Oberholtzer, Hans Indigo Spencer, and Les Harris Jr.
